Sneak Peek: Ashley and Derek

This is the last sneak peek of the pictures that I have been working on. Not going to lie..... I had trouble with these pictures.  Not in the typical sense of "trouble", but the best kind of trouble.  The "there are so many good pictures of this couple I can't narrow it down" kind of trouble.  It is a good problem to have, but it takes me forever to edit those kind of sessions.  I find myself spending 10-15 minutes on one image (which is a lot when there are 200 to choose from).  So, sorry Ashley and Derek that it took me so long to finish these up!  I hope you like them as much as I do.

This couple was so fun to work with.  They are getting married in May of 2014 in Maine.  I am jealous of their wedding photographer!  Despite the fact that Ashley had NEVER had professional pictures taken and that Derek (like most guys) doesn't love to have his picture taken, they both looked like models.  The best is the way they interacted.  They were cracking me up!  Totally like an old married couple already.  They have been together for a long time and I loved to see how comfortable they were with each other, how well they knew each other and their slow burning passion for one other.

I wish you the best of luck in your marriage!  For more pictures of this beautiful couple visit my website or my facebook page.

Sneak Peek: Landon

Don't you hate it when you have this great vision for something and then when you actually try it, it is a disaster?  I have this old blue suitcase that I have been dying to use for a little newborn baby boy.  Put him in the cute suitcase and take pictures.  How could that go wrong?  Well, I finally had a cute little boy....and I remembered to bring the suitcase to the session.  I finally got the little guy to sleep and set him in the suitcase and started snapping pictures.  I took them from several different angles and it just didn't feel right.  I took another one and looked at the image and......oh my gosh.  It looked like this sweet little boy was in a coffin.  I was immediately horrified and took him out of the suitcase.  Didn't see that coming.  Not sure everyone would think it looked like a coffin, but once I got it in my head...I couldn't get it out. Needless to say, this picture did not make the cut (except as a learning tool for the blog).

Now that the horrible picture is in your mind, let me show you some really cute ones of sweet baby Landon.  He had the fullest head of dark, soft hair.  I loved rubbing his head!  Check out the cute props that he had for his photo debut.  A hat knit by his grandpa (yep, you read that right), a sweet bear from Grandma and some adoring parents.  Not bad!

It was so nice to meet his mom, dad and grandma.  I love hanging out with babies!  It took him a few minutes to settle down and go to sleep, but once he did.....this kid was OUT.  We moved him all over the place and he just was happy as could be.  Marcie and Brad, thanks for letting me love on Landon for a few hours.  I can't wait to watch him grow and take more pictures of this little guy in the not so distant future!

Sneak Peek: Zach

I love taking pictures of seniors.  They are so fun, vibrant and at the peak of their lives.  They have no worries (no major worries) and a just enjoying life.  They are easy to take pictures of and fun to get to know. Keeps me young!

Meet Zach.  He is a soon-to-be-graduating senior.  It was so nice to meet him and his mom Tracy.  They were laid back and easy going as we wandered around Clear Creek in Golden.  I love it down there.  Sometime I need to bring my running shoes and hit the trail that goes all along the river.  It is so beautiful.

Back to Zach.  Isn't he a cutie?  I am sure that he would hate that comment, but it is true.  He had a great smile and demeanor.  I love hanging out with teenagers.

If anyone knows of any Juniors who are going to be needing senior pictures this summer, pass my name along!

Have a great Sunday!

Sneak Peek- Gloria is One!

I have been taking pictures of this beauty since she was in the womb.  Literally!  It is so fun to see these little babies grow right before my eyes.

Now she is One!  I can't believe it and if I can't believe it, I am sure that her mother is in denial even more.  This little gal is just about the cutest thing around.

Last April, I bought this really cute little rocking chair at "the consignment sale".  I have been dying to use it, but I needed a cute little one year old girl to complete the package.  I finally found said girl and I love the way she looked in my little chair.  It may have taken a year for me to use it, but I finally put it to good use.

I can't wait to use it again!

Gloria was just as cute as ever in all of the pictures, even with the silly way her teeth are coming in!

Alivia also thought to bring a little cupcake so we could get pictures of some cake smashing.  Gloria, however, had other plans.  She delicately picked at the cupcake and then decided that some flowers and leaves were more appealing than a delicious red velvet cupcake.  Wish I could say that for myself.

I also got the other Russo kids behind the lens for some pictures.  You would think it would have been a little chaotic with 4 Russo kids, 3 Lords (they were on spring break and like to play with the Russo kids so I brought them along for the ride) and 1 Fillhart (Alivia was watching McKenzie for a bit that morning).  8 kids and a photo shoot?  No problem for these two professional moms.  The kids were great and had a ball climbing trees and running around the park.  They even wanted to stay after we were all done with pictures.  Overall, it was a great morning!

Gloria, keep on growing and getting cuter and cuter.  I look forward to watching you grow up!

Sneak Peek-Baby Barnes

I love chunky babies.  I just love their little fat rolls and their puffy cheeks.  They are usually happy babies (because of their vast fat storage!) and tend to eat and sleep better than skinny little guys.  Tanner was my chunky monkey.  Such a cute little porker!

Yet, with all of that chub, he still slept like this!  Check out the mid-arm fat roll.  LOVE IT!

Jameson was no slouch either.  He got some pretty good chub going as well.  We still call him the "chunky man" but he has really slimmed down.  Looking at all of these babies pictures is making me nostalgic.  Sigh. It makes me wish they were little again so I could pinch their fat little fingers.  So cute.  When they were little and someone would say "savor these times when they are young, you will miss them", I wanted to punch them in the throat, but now I get it.

I can't say enough how much I love the chunky ones.

Okay, enough sap.  Last week I caught up the the Barnes Family.  The four have become five.  Little Andrew made his way into their hearts (and now mine too).  I told you I was a sucker for the chubby ones.  Check out this little guy!

I also love third babies.  They are so chill and relaxed and easy to work with.  Nothing fazed this little man.  His sibling were running around and he slept right through it all!  I love the moms too.  Julie is so awesome.  I love that she is "real" and doesn't try to pretend that life with three is easy or that she has it all together.  She did get a shower before I got there and that made me mighty impressed!  See Julie, you can't even tell that the big kids were still in their jammies (It was Spring Break after all).

What a blessing this chunky baby is and what a blessing it has been getting to know them!
