Sneak Peek: The Stocking Family

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I had a lovely time celebrating with family and relaxing.  I am so thankful for the LiLo family and how my business has grown so much this year.  My goal was to double my amount of photoshoots from last year and I DID IT (plus some)!  What a blessing it has been this year.  I am so thankful to be able to have a job that I love and that I am passionate about.  Not everyone can say that!

Now, to the Stocking family.  I met this family through the Bradford Auction.  Shelly was collecting donations for the auction and I gave away a photo session.  She saw my work and immediately wanted to book a session (their first family pictures!!!).  I am so glad that she did.  Her little boy is SOOOOO cute and she and her husband are no slouches in the looks department!  Even their dog is super cute and photogenic.

They really wanted pine trees and woodsy looking pictures so I scouted out a new spot and I LOVE the way it looks.  I love that they wore their coats for most of the pictures.  I just love wintery looking pictures!

And the dog.  Buck.  So.  Amazing.  I guess it helps that Shelly has a background in animal training, but this dog was the most well behaved dog I have ever seen (especially for a lab puppy).  I love that we got so many good ones with Buck in them (note: most of time it is REALLY hard to get a good picture where everyone, including the animals are looking at the camera).

Thanks for choosing me Shelly and I loved spending time with your family.  For more pictures of this amazing family, visit my Facebook page or my website.

Sneak Peek: The Barnes Family

Raise your hand if you love to see pictures of yourself pregnant.  No hands.  Don't blame you.  I didn't really want pictures of myself when I was pregnant.  You feel fat and ugly and tired, and frankly it is hard to make the effort.  However, I can speak from experience, I wish I would have had some maternity pictures taken. I think I can count on 2 hands how many pictures I have from when I was pregnant (which is saying something because between 3 babies I was pregnant for 27 months!).

Julie contacted me a few months ago and was really struggling because she wanted family pictures, but was thinking of waiting until after the baby came (her 3rd baby).  I convinced her to go ahead and get them done beforehand so she would have some of herself pregnant.  I don't think she will regret it.  It was so fun to spend some time with her little family and hang out with them.

Julie, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and that even if you feel like you are big and tired (which you DO NOT look) you will look back on these pictures with love.  And that 4 years from now, you will be so glad that you captured that brief time in your life (like I wish I would have done instead of wondering what I looked like when I was pregnant).

Don't those pictures put you in a Christmasy mood?  Me too!  Time to start decking the halls!

Sneak Peek-Burris Family

I love this little family!  You may remember the Burris family from some family/maternity pictures last April.  They are so cute and fun and I am so glad that we get to see each other on a regular basis.  It is so nice to have people that live close by that are in the same stage of life that you are in.  We parents have to stick together!!!

Scott's work takes him all over the country following natural disasters and doing insurance esimates.  We were going to do these pictures later this month, but after Hurricane Sandy, he had to get to work!  Therefore, on Monday I got a call asking if I could do pictures the next day!  Of course we can!  Can't say no to that.  Tamara did a great job of pulling outfits together and we set off the next day to get some family pictures.  I think they did awesome!  It is really hard to get three kids under the age of 7 to look at the camera with happy faces.  Not for this family.  I got lots of great ones!

So, here you go guys.  I hope you enjoy these pictures and that they will help you get through the long days you might have to spend apart!

Sneak Peek- Lanckriet Family

Last month was insanely busy!  Now, I am finally having time to sit down and edit all of the amazing families I worked with!  It is so fun to meet new people and be a part of capturing their lives on film (or computer as it were).  This family is one of my first friend of friend of a friend clients.  My friend Summer introduced me to Becky and Brian, and then Becky and Brian passed my name along to Sarah and her family.  I love it!  By the way, if you recommend a friend and they book a session, you receive a free 8x10 professional print of your choice!  So go tell your friends about me, it is the highest compliment!

Back to the Lanckriet family!  They joined their families together 5 years ago and hadn't had any pictures done since!  It was so fun to see them interact and I loved the way the three kids (all teenagers) got along so well and really seemed to have fun together.  I so often work with young families, that it was a breath of fresh air to work with kids that I didn't have to do a dance in order for them to look at the camera.  I got some great shots of this beautiful family.  Only a few more years and they will need some senior pictures (wink wink).

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Sneak Peek- The O'Neill Family

I am so thankful, once again, that we have such wonderful neighbors and that I get to take pictures of them!  You know what I love the most about the O'Neill family?  They are "real" and I can totally relate.  They don't pretend that their kids are perfectly behaved all of the time, they make mistakes (and are totally willing to laugh at themselves), they have 3 kids and 2 jobs and therefore are always juggling (sounds familiar) and they genuinely love their kids and each other.  They make me laugh every time we get together.  Thanks for being such great friends and for living alongside me in the parenting trenches.

We headed out to the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield on a very cold Saturday morning.  The kids were real troopers!  They didn't always want to look at the camera and smile (pretty typical for three kids under the age of 6) but we still got some great shots (even of little Layla who is a walking machine and not really interested in standing or sitting still for a picture).

I hope you enjoy this fun little session!

Peeking into the chicken coop

Seriously.  The cutest outfit ever!

Feeding the chickens

Oh gross!

This is how they carry the kids to bed every night!

Trying to get a picture of the couple.  Nice try!

Awwww
