Sneak Peek: Hendrix

I have so many new images to share with you.  LiLo has been a busy girl!  Prepare for a little treat.  I had a lot of fun with this little guy.  He was so snuggly and sweet and slept during our ENTIRE session.  One of the easiest babies I have worked with in a long time.  He didn't even whimper.  I guess he got all of his naughtiness out while in uetero.  He didn't even want to stay in until his due date and came a month early via C-section.

And then there was his hair.  The sweetest strawberry blond.  He definitely looks just like his strawberry blond daddy and not much like his dark haired, darker skinned mama. So fun to see how genetics play out.

Daddy is also a major snowboarder so we had to do a few with the board.  Didn't bother Hendrix a bit.

Hendrix, you have a lot of people wrapped around your finger....including me.

So sweet.

It was a pleasure to meet you (and snuggle you) Hendrix.  I can't wait until our next session.  Until then...I hope you sleep as well for your mama as you did for me!

Sneak Peek: The Stevens Family

The summer is flying by and I can't believe that we will all be heading back to school in just a few short weeks.

Speaking of school.....my kids are lucky to go to a wonderful school.  I have loved all of the teachers the kids have been blessed with.  But there are a few teachers that really stick out.  For Tanner it was his Kindergarten teacher.  I LOVE HER!  She and I have become friends and she is just the best.  Best teacher, best mom, best lady.  One of my favorite things that she taught Tanner in Kindergarten....manners.  She taught all of the kids to say "excuse me" before they started speaking (especially if they were interrupting).  He still does it to this day and I LOVE that.  That is a good teacher.  Not only teaching the ABC's and 123's but life lessons as well.  I also got to know her middle daughter while I was subbing this year at D'Evelyn.  She is so cute and I loved seeing her smiling face every Friday!

So when Mrs. Stevens (I still have a hard time calling her by her first name....giggle, giggle) emailed me this summer to see if I could do family pictures, I was thrilled.  She has three beautiful and sweet daughters and she said it had been YEARS since they had done professional pictures.

<INTERVENTION>  If it has been more than 2 years since you have had family pictures done.....it is time.  Call me!  Kids change so fast and you need to document their growth.  It is also nice to have updated pictures for Facebook and school projects, right?  It also makes for great gifts for family and grandparents.  It will be the best money you spend and I am not just saying that as a photographer, but as a mom too!  <END RANT>

I loved getting together with this family.  They are all grown up and for once, I didn't have to chase the kids all over (not that I mind doing that, normally I love it...but this was nice for a change).  We were able to go to several different places within the park and do lots of different set ups.

I hope you enjoy this family as much as I do, and if you are lucky enough to come in contact with this family, you are lucky indeed.

Wayne, you are a lucky guy.  Who doesn't want his wife to look at him like this?
And these girls.....cute, sweet and fun.  Great combo!

The youngest, Maya, is Makai's age.  Just sayin' he could do a LOT worse.

And Wayne....here is the one for your desk, or wallet, or computer background.

Keep enjoying summer, my friends.  It will be over in the blink of an eye.  And Mrs. Stevens, I can't wait to see more of you this year.  Even if Jameson won't be in your class....I'll see you around!

Sneak Peek: Kirkpatrick Family

What do you get when you combine two ridiculously good looking people?  Three cute little kids, that's what.  They have three kids under the age of three and that made me have to work a little harder than usual.  But these kids were so cute and sweet.  The moment I pulled up to the location little Ava headed straight for me and wanted me to pick her up.  How cute is that?  Then little Evan wanted to hold my hand all evening and pull me all over the place.  However, when I put the camera up to my face....they wanted no part of it.  Apparently they like me a lot more than they like my camera.  We spent quite a bit of time together and I got some wonderful pictures, but pictures of all five of them with smiles were hard to come by.  However.....it is a stage of life and having 3 kids at those ages is tricky.  Hopefully they will be able to look back at these and remember the chaos, wonder, exhaustion and sheer joy of this phase of life.  It gets easier, I promise.

For those of you who are wondering....this is what three kids under the age of three looks like.

These two.  Three kids later and they still got the heat!

Sometimes a lollipop is a photographers only option!

And then there are the ones that take your breath away.

Then comes the time that the photographer messed up BIG time.  I was "hiding" the bottle in my back pocket so little Ava wouldn't see it.  Then I may have leaned up against the bridge and......out popped the bottle.  Into the stream.  The stagnant stream.  Where Ava could see it.  And mourn it.  I am SOOOOOOO sorry Ava.  And to Brian and Ambyr: I hope that your car ride home did not include a screaming baby.

But then I got this picture of Mama comforting her baby.  So sweet.
And then there is this......  I know not everyone is looking, but this might be one of my favorites of all time.

And if all else fails.....drag the kids on a quilt.  It is hard not to smile for that!

Thanks guys!  It was so fun to hang out with your sweet family.  And, I owe you a bottle.
