The Newell Family- Littleton Family Photographer

Happy Monday!  I am feeling like I have a little bit of a photography hangover this morning.  I have done so many wonderful shoots lately that I am in a bit of a fog.  Good problem to have and nothing that a little bit of Dr. Pepper can't handle, right?

Today, for your viewing enjoyment, I have another ridiculously good-looking family.  Kari and I work together at D'Evelyn and it has been a blessing to get to know her over the past few months.  She is sweet and loving and a GREAT teacher.  I was so excited when she asked me to do some family pictures for her.  She admitted that they hadn't done family pictures for YEARS and it was time to remedy that!  I think it is easier and more on your mind to document and photograph the kids when they are little because they change so fast.  When they get a little older it seems as though they don't change as fast so we don't do pictures as often.  People get complacent and just use the school photos.  Don't do it!  You should at least have your pictures done every other year.  Even teenagers change quickly and grow up before our very eyes.  Don't go too far in between family pictures or you will regret it!  Okay, off soapbox.

Back to the Newell Family.  It was kind of windy for our session, but that didn't stop us from getting some great shots.  They love their neighborhood and wanted to do the session there and I was happy to oblige as it is a beautiful place with so many options for pictures.  I also love how it reflects them and their life.
Their kids are so sweet, and even though there was a tiny bit of the typical brother/sister annoyance I could tell that they actually enjoy being together as a family.  I love seeing that!
Not only are the kids wonderful......Kari and David are SUPER photogenic.  David jumped right in and was always grabbing Kari and striking the perfect pose.  It made my job so much easier!  They are a couple to be envied!
I loved spending a Sunday afternoon with this family.  It was so fun to chat and pose the big kids for a change (instead of running after little ones).  The interaction is so very different and a breath of fresh air!  Thanks Kari and David.  You have a wonderful family.

The Harris Family Times Two- Denver Family Photographer

I was so thrilled when a past client contacted me about doing family pictures and that her sister-in-law would also be doing pictures....and to top it all off, they wanted pictures of all of the cousins!  I love cousin pictures.  We do cousin pictures for my mom every year and she loves it.  Hint out there for all of you....if you get your mom updated pictures of the grandkids every year she will be in heaven!  You probably don't even have to give her anything else.  Well.....let's not get carried away.

Back to the Harris Families.  These brothers are two out of four brothers, but they are the only two brothers who have kiddos.  I had never met David and Emily, but when they walked up I knew exactly who they were.  These brothers look SO much alike!    I had so much fun spending time with each family and then some joint time with the kiddos.

Let's start with the David Harris Family.  Emily...you hit the nail on the head.  Your outfit choices were spectacular!  I loved it!
Sweet baby J was pretty much the cutest thing I have ever seen.  Her bright, blue eyes and rosy cheeks are to. die. for.  She is like a cherub!
Big brother look a little longer to warm up to me but by the end....we were in a groove.
We had a blast running around and playing together.
And these two...perfection.  They are so cute together!
 And now for the cousins.
Do you know how hard it is to get 5 kids under the age of 9 to look at the camera all at the same time?  It is really hard!  But these are pretty cute, even if everyone doesn't look perfect.

And now for our next amazing family.

The Jeremiah Harris Family.  I met this family about 2 years ago when I did family/maternity pictures for this family.  Three girls.  They are so different and so cute.  Audrey and Maddy are so grown up and sweet.  They are so good with little Charlotte and nothing ruffled their feathers.  They are so chill and go with the flow.  It was a nice breath of fresh air.
Little Charlotte is the baby of the family and all that it encompasses: cute and doted upon!  She didn't love having her picture taken and she seemed to always have a bit of a tear in her eye.  But these pictures are some of my favorite!
That black and white.  Seriously amazing!
Mom and Dad are no slouches either (can you see how much Jeremiah looks like David?)
These three girls are so cute together.  They seem like the kind of sisters who will always be best friends.  I love that about these girls!
The full family together...perfection!  I love the colors that Holly picked too.  The bright colors and layers look so good.  Well done!  You Harris Ladies know what you are doing!
I love meeting extended families.  It is so fun to see them interact and I loved watching these sister-in-laws together.  It gives me hope that my sons will marry women who love each other as much as these two!  Mrs. Harris, you are a lucky lady/mom/grandma!

The Parks Family- Denver Family Photographer

It never ceases to amaze me what a small world it is!  I love meeting families and then finding I have a connection with them in one way or another.  Not only do we have mutual friends, but this sweet lady went to high school with my husband.  Crazy.

I loved hanging out with this family.  It isn't very often that take pictures of a family that has an only child (who is older).  I had so much fun hanging out with little Josie.  She is so full of spunk and personality and she is a beautiful little thing.  Her eyes just sparkle!  This family was also the first in a long line of Dave/Davids.  I think I did 3-4 shoots in one weekend where the husbands were all named Dave/David.  Strange....but true fun fact for you.
The only downside to this session was the mosquitos.  Really....mosquitos in October?  Why are these suckers still around?  Can't they just die already?  I am sure that they have some purpose in the circle of life, but they certainly don't have a purpose in my photo sessions other than to give sweet little girls big welts right on their faces (to which I, in turn, have to magically photoshop out).  Come on frost and kill those blood suckers!  End rant.
This couple.  Very photogenic.  Now I see why Josie is such a beautiful girl.
You guys are such a fun and cute (sorry Dave) family.  I loved meeting you and spending time with you and your spunky girl!
